"This is Halloween"

The Halloween fun begins! In the middle of our move, we decided to take a break and head down with Ali to Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland. Lots of fun ensued :)

It was hilarious meeting Jack. He had a great conversation with Ben about how he was exactly how he used to look when he had hair. So much fun.

Okay, totally geeked out over the pumpkins...particularly the Ichabod Crane one :)
The man who carves these is amazing!

Super fun to see all the costumes people came up with and to step out as Jack, Sally and a purrrfect kitty :)

Aquarium 4th of July

So, we drove down to the Aquarium of the Pacific on the 4th to hang out with some sea creatures...and escape the crazy heat in Glendale. Long Beach was much cooler, and we had a lot of fun.
Highlights included: petting sharks, rays, jellies, anemones, urchins, and starfish, feeding the lorikeets, and best of all getting to help train the sea otters!

Palos Verdes Daytrip

So today, we ventured forth in our determined little Lucy car to the distant land of Palos Verdes...freaking gorgeous is pretty much the only way to describe it. Clean air, beautiful coast...crazy hot, but what can you do. As we were about to head home, we caught a glimpse of an amazing sunset with a cloud bank hanging over the ocean, so we had to stop and take some pics. It was so nice to just walk around together and have some down time...hope everyone's holiday was equally pleasant :)

This last one was with my phone...which explains the graininess...but there we are contemplating the cosmos...heheh

P.S. Earlier today we had the first lettuce from our garden....look at all that yumminess!

Ladybug Cavalry

Overnight my lovely little garden got a nasty infestation of aphids...so we brought out the big guns.
My friend, and garden goddess, Charita :) told me to mix soapy water with citrus juice and spray all my plants down with it. That helped a ton, and then for extra precautions we got some lovely ladybugs...who are not only charming, but rather fond of aphids as well. The soapy water mix, though mighty effective, doesn't photograph as well as these guys...heheh.
